Trap Style ist nach dem Erfolg von Baauer nach Deutschland rüber geschwappt. Was ist Trap Style genau? Wikipedia schreibt dazu: Trap (deutsch Falle) ist eine Mischung aus Genres wie z. B. Hip-Hop, Crunk, House, Dubstep und Hardstyle.[1] Der Stil wird geprägt durch heruntergepitchte Stimmen, Adlibs und einen typischen Hip-Hopbeat, gemischt mit Elementen aus oben genannten Musikstilen.

Filibusta first came glitching onto my radar a while back with his stellar debut album “Honeycomb Eyes” which you can read about how much I loved it.

Needless to say Filibusta’s blend of glitch, beats and most importantly melody quickly skyrocketed him into one of my favorite producers of all time.

Today Fili takes a stab at the rising genre of Trap. Now before you roll your eyes, just hold up a second.

Filibusta does trap like I have never heard.

Instead of obnoxious horns and a insane amounts of random off kilter vocals samples accompanied by saturated annoying hats Filibusta chooses to incorporate melodic leads, sweeping modulated synths, vocoded custom vocals and his trademarked glitched out riffs over some big kickn’ bass combos.

This will probably be the first time you hear trap with chord progressions and melody.

Just when I was getting sick of glitch hop Filibusta made the genre fresh for me , and once again when I was rinsed out and over club trap he comes along and reminds me of why the genre was so infectious to begin with in the first place.
