Kastra is a musician, producer and DJ from New Jersey, who’s worked to firmly establish himself as one of electro house’s rising creative forces. Defining himself from milestone to milestone with remixes that explored the raw and rich divergence of dance music, spanning from re-inventing Madeon’s already stellar “Finale” to bringing the weekend favorite, Rick James’s “Superfreak” back into musical relevance with an almost inherent touch of Melbourne Bounce, earning him praise from some of the highest names in the field, and the crowning moment coming just a few days ago when Avicii opened his radio show with his remix of OneRepublic’s already iconic “If I Lose Myself.

All of the work, dedication and sheer focus has predicated a dream of a project and a realization of quite a bit of varied inspiration. With the title track “Spank!” continuing in proper fashion to follow his “SuperFreak” remix, the highly infectious vocal sample and bounce starts you off on the right note and serves as a perfect precursor for the harder “Inside Out” and “Get On It”, varying between acid synth basslines and booming bass in perfect succession. He ends on a great, disco influenced note in “Reach The Sky” and makes it an easy decision to press the replay button on the entire project.
